First identify who controls the data

If your request concerns student, parent, applicant, staff, attendance, fee, or academic records held by a school, the school will generally be the data controller. Contact that school first. Icademee will assist the school with requests that fall within our role as processor.

Requests about Icademee

For information Icademee controls for its own purposes, such as platform accounts, security records, support interactions, or compliance records, contact us through the Contact page. Include enough information for us to understand the request, but do not send passwords, authentication codes, full identity documents, student records, or other unnecessary sensitive information in the initial message.

What you can request

• Access to personal information, subject to applicable law and identity verification.
• Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion or restriction where the legal requirements are satisfied.
• Objection to processing where an applicable right exists.
• Information about relevant processing and recipients.
• Other rights available under applicable data-protection law.

Identity and school verification

We may need to verify your identity and, for school-controlled records, your relationship with the relevant school. Verification will be proportionate to the risk of unauthorised disclosure. We will not disclose one person's records to another person merely because that person knows a student name, ID, PIN, or other public-facing identifier.

Requests involving children

Student records require particular care. A parent, guardian, school official, or other requester may need to establish the authority on which they are making a request. Applicable Nigerian law and the school's responsibilities determine the appropriate response; this page does not replace that assessment.

Response handling

Requests are logged for accountability and handled according to applicable legal and contractual timelines. We may preserve information where necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or another lawful purpose. Where a request is refused or limited, the requester should receive an explanation to the extent permitted by law.
